By using services provided by Teign Geeks Ltd you are entering into a contract with us. The following terms set out our obligations to you and what you are agreeing to.
Authorisation to Access your Computer
You acknowledge that by using our Services you are authorising Teign Geeks Ltd to access and control your computer for the purposes of computer diagnosis, service and repair.
In connection with delivering the services Teign Geeks Ltd may download and use software, gather system data, take control of your computer and access or modify your computer settings. By accepting these terms, you hereby grant Teign Geeks Ltd the right to connect to your computer, download install and use software on your computer to gather system data, change the settings on your computer and repair your computer, in the course of performing our services.
Any verbal quote given by Teign Geeks Ltd is given as a guide based on limited information provided by a customer. A verbal quote is intended to give the customer an estimate on the price and not an assurance that the product or service will be sold at that price.
Any written quote will be provided by Teign Geeks Ltd at that price. All written quotes are valid for only 7 days. Once work commences, after a technician has evaluated the system, should it appear that the cost to repair is more than quoted, no work will commence without explicit client approval.
The client is the legal owner or authorised representative of the legal owner of the property and all data and components contained therein sent to Teign Geeks Ltd. You must be the owner, or have the permission of the owner, for us to work on your equipment. We will only take instructions for work from the owner or their designated representative.
If equipment is left with Teign Geeks Ltd and is not collected within sixty (60) days after we notify you that the requested service is complete, we will treat your equipment as abandoned and it becomes the sole property of Teign Geeks Ltd. You agree to hold Teign Geeks Ltd harmless for any damage or claim for the abandoned property, which we may discard at our sole discretion. Any and all charges are still your responsibility.
For in-home or in-office services, a person of at least 18 years of age must be present during the entire period services are provided. If no adult is present when our technician arrives services will be denied and a cancellation charge equal to one hours work onsite will be assessed.
Backup Services & Potential Data Loss
While Teign Geeks Ltd will make all reasonable efforts to safeguard the contents (data) stored on your computer, you understand and agree that prior to contacting or allowing Teign Geeks Ltd to perform diagnostic, repair, or other services on your computer, it is your responsibility to back up the data, software, information or other files stored on your computer disks and/or drives if you so desire. You acknowledge and agree that Teign Geeks Ltd and/or its third-party service provider shall not be responsible under any circumstances for any loss, alteration, or corruption of any software, data or files.
If you do not have a backup of your software and data, we can provide you with our data backup service at an additional cost. However, we cannot guarantee the integrity of the data when backing up.
Teign Geeks Ltd agrees not to disclose any and all information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from client’s equipment except to employees or agents of Teign Geeks Ltd subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law.
Teign Geeks Ltd can supply manufacturer specific upgrades or spare parts on request. Please note however that we cannot guarantee compatibility with your current system or configuration. Teign Geeks Ltd will offer suggestions and advice on upgrades but is not liable for any compatibility issues.
Unless otherwise stated, all services come with a full 12 months warranty on parts and labour. If in the very unlikely event the exact same issue arises again, we will either try again to fix the problem at no extra charge or, if the problem cannot be fixed, we will refund your payment in full for the services performed. This excludes faults or issues caused by the failure of other components after the repair has taken place, or by faults caused due to incorrect use of software or downloaded material, virus and malware infections, or by faults arising from accidental damage or incorrect use of the product.
Although we offer a 12 months warranty for most repairs, there are some exceptions where items our standard warranty does not apply. We will indicate to you at the time of repair/collection what items have a limited or exempt warranty. This includes but not limited to the following items:
GPU / BGA / CPU Reflows or any Logic/Motherboard Repairs – 3 Month Warranty
Liquid Damage – No Warranty
Equipment is only covered for faulty workmanship on parts, and for parts that fail due to manufacturing defects recognised by the component manufacturer. In the event that the Warranty parts are not available the client will be informed of the delay and the revised expected repair time. Warranty repairs are carried out under the terms of the manufacturer warranty conditions. Warranty parts are supplied by the equipment manufacturer.
If a warranty repair is found to be outside of the warranty terms, it will be deemed as a “Non Warranty Repair” and charges will be applicable.
Unless otherwise agreed full payment must be made at time of collection or delivery. We accept Debit/Credit Card or Bank Transfer.
Refunds will only be issued if the exact same fault reoccurs as outlined in our warranty and we are unable to fix the fault. We do not offer any refund policy for returned parts, components or equipment as these will have been ordered specifically for the customer. We will only refund if the item is faulty and we are unable to supply the same or equivalent items.
Refunds for Remote CCTV Network Connections
We check each connection we do and ensure that the remote access is fully functional before requesting payment for remote connections. If, for whatever reason we cannot get the remote access to work, we don’t request payment. For this reason, we do not offer refunds on remote connections.
Dynamic Hosts/virtual Hosting account
We offer a refund period of 14 days from when a dynamic hosting account has been created. Any requests for a refund outside of this period will not be authorised.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your account or refunded to your debit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
